Honoring the Rebozo with Wendolyne Omaña

On the first day, we open our hearts in circle, guided by a prayer from Wendolyne’s teacher in Mexico. This is an offering of gratitude to the rebozo’s resilience and the Birth workers, adelitas, and  medicine people who carried this wisdom before us. This shared prayer roots us deeply before stepping into this living tradition.
We listen to the story of the rebozo: how it was born from the hands of the weavers, how prayers were woven into every thread, and how it has held generations through birth, rest, and renewal. Together, we will also hear from the makers themselves, who share how each pattern, color, and fiber carries a story of protection, continuity, and love.

Through hands-on learning, we explore the many ways the rebozo nourishes and restores bodies, discovering how this tool of resilience continues to care for people with wombs and for all who walk beside them.

To honor the sacredness of this gathering, participants are asked to confirm their participation two weeks in advance, to ensure rebozo. Pease reserve your place with a $100 USD deposit. If participant already have their rebozo and wish to bring their own, they are invited to  save their spot with a $50 USD deposit.

This day is a return to our stories, our bodies, and the threads that bind us to one another.

By the end of the day, our circle becomes a community and each participant leaves more deeply connected to their rebozo, to the lineage of midwives and caregivers who have carried it for generations, and to their own capacity to offer care through love, tradition, and embodiment.

We also learn how to advocate for the appreciation of the rebozo rather than its appropriation, honoring the people and places that keep this art alive.
